Day 9 - Darwin's first full day....

Loz and Mel at The Lost Arc
The Irish Dancer
Loz and the Valentines Balloons
Mel and the Valentines Balloons
After waking up and both feeling a little on the seedy side after our escapades throughout Darwin the night before we decide it’s a good idea to head across the road to Coles for some supplies......Loz is thinking sausages me thinks mushys...... Hanging around the fruit and veg trying to work out a plan of attack when the resident hostel gossip accosts us in front of the fruit and veg.......Fat Albert informs us that “just a word of advice that word travels fast with Moses’ I look at Loz and go who the fuck’s Moses, we only heard about rock spider last night. Loz thanks Fat Albert for his words of advice I say fuck him and where on our merry little way again. I then ask Loz who this Moses character is apparently it’s a figure of speech, I don’t know what speech he’s talking coz it’s straight over my head.
So after cooling off around the freezer section coz as some people know we have a bit of a temper it is off again to out hostel to fry up some brekkie, it’s amazing what you can do with 2 minute noodles, in our defence it was past lunchtime.................once our tummies were sorted it out it was off to the do some window shopping down the mall, which really didn’t take too long at all, although we had a pretty good look around the souvenir shops there was only about 10 down and around the mall.....lots of good ideas for pressies though that’s for sure.
After being caught once again in a torrential downpour it is back to the hostel for some grub and a freshen up ready to hit the local pubs again.....pity is Valentine’s Day though, what a crock of shit.....maybe that is just the unattached coming out in us....however we had an awesome vantage point at looking at all the star crossed lovers and yobbos hanging around on Mitchell Street, it is a very fashion forward city centre and I am sure Louis Vuitton has high sales up here along with Chanel and Bonds.... So after a couple of bevvies its time to hit the pub, first stop the Lost Arc, well it seemed it was a bit lost and stranded as there weren’t too many people out and about at this joint, however a few people started rocking up which was pretty good but we decided it was time for a change of pace, so were up and getting ready to walk down to Shenanigans when a tall and rather cute man stopped us in our tracks and asked us if we wanted to come for a drink with him and his mates at the Fox, so after a little chat in the street with Grant it is off to the Fox to have a bevvie with his mate Nick and Nick’s twin sister Bec, luckily Bec worked at the bar so mates rates on the spirits BOO YER! After about half an hour chatting with them we high tailed it down to Shenanigans which as always was packed however not well enough with talent. Loz had a beer or two and then we were off again, back to the Arc, by the time we got there the place was packed and the music was pumping.......we were straight out onto the dance floor via the bar of course.......
We didn’t realise when we were in their earlier in the evening that it was dress like a complete skank night, some old bitches were dressed up one in a naughty nurse outfit and the other as a school girl....they were in their 50’s and looked like right gits.......with tits and breakfast hanging out all over the place.......But I suppose you need to stand out when you’re trying to find a daddy for all your babies at home in Palmo. After taking the Piss out of them we managed to get a third wheel in the form of Mark and Irish bugger who is out here for another month before he heads back home....so once again we made friends and extended the warm hand of Australian friendship, he did a bit to form the bond as well by buying a couple (or more) drinks although he wasn’t very impressed by my I’ll just have water option.......damn near a sin I think it’s either full strength or full strength there I guess....I suppose we’ll soon find out when we head over there......sometime in the not so distant future.....
