Sweating it out with 3 days to go...

What a sweltering lead up to the trip away. We have had 8 days of temperatures above 37 degrees with 6 of those days above 40. We have no air con at home so it’s been lovely. Frustrations are on the rise as we haven’t had a good night sleep in all that time. And Mel is currently working her 10th day straight leading up to holidays….Good times.

Now we see the temp in Adelaide is dropping to 25 degrees on Sunday and we are going to be in Coober Pedy where the next few days have been forecast to be dry and hot….WFT!!! We leave a sweltering Adelaide just as it cools down to join the sweltering central Australian Desert….Really looking forward to that…

Big Day Out went off with a bang. 43 degrees, lots of bands and 30,000+ people. What a fantastic way to mark the one week before we leave. Only minor mishap of Mel forgetting to take her ticket to work so she had to go home and get it. But lucky for her she made it in time for Sneaky Sound System. Prodigy finished off the day with a fantastic performance.

I have begun packing….well I at least got my bag out from under my bed…Tonight I’ll get onto trying to work out what I want to take. Advise has been to pack then take out half as we always over pack.

Mel and I, as random as we have been lately, went to the travel expo on Sunday just gone. So many ideas. So many things around the world to see. We had briefly discussed going to the snow in winter to try our hand at skiing. But oh no, not just going to Falls Creek or Mt Buller, we have now decided to go to New Zealand. That trip will be in winter so we can build snowmen and maybe try our hand at skiing.. So this blog might need a name change again to Mel and Loz do OZ and NZ…as we also have Melbourne in April, Tasmanina in December and talks about a QLD trip too. Oh and not to forget a short trip over to Cambodia at the end of October….

Well as there is not long to go now, I best be off to write a list of stuff to take etc…
